Shoulder Resurfacing:

        • Bone preserving: maintains the majority of the humeral head and neck
        • Re-caps the humeral head (like a crown on a tooth) instead of replacing it as in a
          total shoulder arthroplasty
        • More conservative than total shoulder arthroplasty
        • Appropriate for shoulders with a reasonably maintained shape
        • Appropriate for patients with strong bones (no osteoporosis)
